We’d like to tell everyone out there in Arizona about the Arizona Charitable Tax Credit. This program allows you to direct your donations to the qualifying non-profit of your choice, and then deduct that amount off our your taxes. It is essentially a way to give to your local non-profits while getting all the money back a little while later through your taxes. It doesn’t get any better than that!
How it Works
Arizona taxpayers may now make their donation to a qualified organization. Taxpayers filing as “single” and “head of household” status may claim a maximum credit of $200. Taxpayers that file as “married filing joint” may claim a maximum credit of $400. Taxpayers filing as “married filing separate” may claim a maximum credit of $200.
How it works is that you make the donation to an organization and then you can claim it on your Arizona taxes for a full refund. You report the name of the qualifying charitable organization you donated to as well as the dollar amount of your donation to the Department of Revenue on your tax forms. This essentially allows you to donate to this organization now, and then get your money back through your tax return!
